***Rainbow Ranch Field Trip ***
Our long awaited field trip will be on Friday, May 11th to the Rainbow Ranch in Nashville and the New Baden Park!  It will be an all day field trip so your child will need to bring a disposable lunch and drink.  Admission to the Rainbow Ranch is $6 for your child.  If you would like to join us, adult admission will be a little different and will be $8.  You will also need a lunch for that day.  We would love to have you come!!!J Please remember that library dues for lost books, lunch money and all fees have to be paid in order for your child to be able to attend or field trip or any end of the year activities such as the Carnival.  Just a reminder that the office can no longer accept checks.  Thank you!J

***Along with the district policy, THE ABSOLUTE LAST DAY TO TURN IN MONEY FOR OUR FIELD TRIP IS THURSDAY, MAY 3RD OR YOU YOUR CHILD CANNOT COME WITH US!!!   Also, WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT CASH, MONEY ORDERS or REV TRAK PAYMENT for our field trip or any fees being paid.  (I just want to make sure that you all know about the early deadline because I would really hate for anyone to miss out on our special day!!!)
***We have a district policy that requires that all chaperones need to have a background check that will need to finished and turned in a few days before attending the field trip and we can accept your money for the field trip until we have your paperwork. Thanks so much and hope you can join us!!!J

***Saturday, April 21st is the WS Family Walk/Run 5K!!!  Call the office soon if you would like to register to come!  It’s a lot of fun!J

***A HUGE THANK YOU for all of the eggs and candy donations for our egg hunt today!!!  It couldn’t have been possible without all of you!  I HAVE AMAZING FAMILIES!!!J

***Here is a copy of our Field Trip Permission Form if you have not seen it in your child's folder.  Please return before May 3rd with your signature and $6.00 and we hope that you can join us for the fun!!!😊

FIELD TRIP PERMISSION FORM

On May 10 or 11, your child’s class will be taking a field trip to the Rainbow Ranch in Nashville, IL. The students will be eating their sack lunches and playing at the New Baden Park.  Please make sure your child arrives on time to school. The bus will leave Whiteside at approximately 9:00.  Please check the schedule below for your child’s class.  You will be responsible for the $6.00  admission cost  and providing a sack lunch and drink for your child.  Please return the permission slip along with the $6.00 (cash, money order or online RevTrak payments only) farm admission to school by Thursday, May 3rd.  ***ALL SCHOOL FEES MUST BE PAID TO ATTEND THE FIELD TRIP!!!

DRESSING FOR THE FIELD TRIP:
The students will be able to play with and interact with a lot of really fun animals at the ranch!  In doing so, your child may get dirty and/or muddy. Please have your child:
*wear old clothes – a RED shirt (or Kindergarten Portrait Shirt)  if possible.
*wear socks and tennis shoes – your child will not be able to tour the ranch if he/she is wearing any type of sandal, flip flops, etc.

Thursday, May 10Mrs. Cason,  Mrs. Kirk & Mrs. Crossley: Students will tour the ranch from 10:00 - 11:30 and then ride to New Baden to eat lunch and play at the park from 12:00 – 1:30.

Friday, May 11Mrs.Andrews & Mrs. Zalesky:  Students will tour the ranch from 10:00 - 11:30 and then ride to New Baden to eat lunch and play at the park from 12:00 – 1:30.
Mrs. Krause & Mrs. Jung:  Students will go to the New Baden Park to play and have lunch from 9:30 – 11:30 and then go to the Rainbow Ranch from 12:00-1:30.

***Students must ride the bus to the Rainbow Ranch, the park and back to Whiteside.  ThanksJ

***What an awesome job on all of the beautiful family rainbow projects!!!  We love seeing all of the fun and creative ideas!J
Progress reports are coming home Monday.  I tested on letter recognition Aa-Zz, our first 28 sight words from our list that I had sent home, counting to 75 (which almost everyone has gone to 100 already but we will keep reviewingJ), printing and recognizing numbers 0-20, printing first and last names the school way touching top, middle, bottom, and adding sums to 5.  Please keep reviewing these skills at home.  It really does make a huge difference!  Thanks so much for all of your help and support!!!

***Today was our Good News Party to celebrate awesome behavior these last 9 Weeks and a magician came to entertain us!!!

***The Family Rainbows are fantastic and unbelievable!!!  They are due back next Friday, March 16th, but they can still be turned in anytime.J These will also cover the project for April.  Thanks so much for all of your help at home and making it so much fun for your child to share with their friends every month!  

Please keep in mind our classroom “Treasure Box” when you are doing your Spring Cleaning!  If you have any little toys, treats or any other type of little “goodie” that you have cleaned out or found cheap at a store, we would love to have them and put them to good use!J 

***The end of our 3rd 9 Weeks is today and all grades will be entered by next Tuesday.  Please keep reviewing the alphabet, #’s 0-1-20, writing first and last names as well as all letters and numbers touching the lines, rhyming and the popcorn words. Our rote counting goal is 75 this 9 weeks.
Extra practice at home makes a HUGE difference  THANK YOU😊

   ***Just a reminder that next Saturday, March 10th is Galactic Glo Bingo Night for adults at the Belleville Elks Lodge at 7:00!  There is still time to sign up in the office!  The cost is $20 per person and tables of 8.  Hope you can join us for a super fun night!!!😊



***I am sending out a sign-up paper asking for volunteers to come in and read some Dr. Seuss books!!!  We would LOVE to have you come in and read!  Please let me know if you would like to set up a time!  You can also email me to let me know. If you don’t see a time or day that works for you, please let me know and we will make it work!
The kids are so excited to have you come in!!!!!!!!!!!!

***For Dr. Seuss’ birthday today we made green eggs and ham!!!  Your children are all wonderful chefs!  We had a lot of practice with cracking eggs and then someone else got to add the “special” ham and then the “magic” color!  All 23 eggs made it into the bowl with only a few shells in there so I call that very successful!!!πŸ˜‹
