I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break! We have been doing a lot of practice with our “popcorn” (sight) words here at school! So far we have introduced several words from those lists that have been sent home each month. They were taken from the master list that I had given you at conferences. I will be introducing a few new words each week that we would like the kids to know by the end of Kindergarten. Please keep reviewing all of the “popcorn words” with your child and reinforce our new words as they come home. In case you lost the master sheet with all of the words, just let me know and I can send another one home.J We have worked on the words: and, a, are, but, come, came, from, find, go, how, here, I, in, is, into, like, me, my, many, now, of, on, see, so, the, to, this, we, will, with, what, where, you. Thanks so much for all of your hard work at home! It makes such a huge difference!!!

The small black and white easy reader books that I have made for the kids will continue to come home. These books will have the sight words that have already been introduced along with other words that can be sounded out. Please continue to have your child read them to you, sign your name and have your child return them for a treat. Thanks so much for all of your help!:)

Your family snowmen have been rolling in this week and are wonderful!!! Thank you all so much for helping your child with their projects because are so excited to share them with their friends! Please try to have the snowmen returned by January 11^th if possible, or whenever they are finished. Thanks so much!J

***Just a reminder that the Six Flags Reading Sheets are due back on Friday, February 27^th! Your child can earn a free Six Flags ticket for reading a total of 6 hours(or 360 minutes) with you, by having it filled out with the recorded times and signatures! J
