Special’s Rotation
Mon . PE
Tues. Art
Wed. Music
Thurs. Library
Fri. Computer
Each week I will have a guideline so
that you can keep track of what “Special” your child will have each day
starting off on Monday and rotating down the list. Please make sure that your child is wearing
tennis shoes on PE days or he/she will not be able to participate. It will be a few weeks before Library books
will be coming home. Please be sure to
send your child’s book back to school within a few days so he/she will be able
to check out again that following week.
Just a
reminder, if you haven’t returned all of the permission forms from Open
House, I will need those back as soon as possible.
With so many Kindergarteners this year,
it is very important to label your child’s backpack, lunch box, jacket, etc.
with his/her name. Sometimes
they have difficulty remembering which one is theirs.
***Just
to let you know, on Monday we will start introducing and reviewing the letter
of the alphabet taking 1 letter each day and centering activities around
it. Next week we will start with Aa on Wednesday
and go through to letter Cc by next Friday.
Each week I will keep you posted on the letters we will be touching
on. The whole alphabet Aa-Zz will have
been introduced briefly by the end of September and before conference time by
focusing on a letter a day. After we
have gone through the whole alphabet, we will be going back to letter Aa and
doing a specific letter each week but working with each letter more intensely,
especially with writing and the sounds.
We will be working hard on being able to identify all the letters in the
alphabet by the end of the first semester at Christmas time to help build a
good foundation for their reading skills.
Recognition of the upper and lowercase letters(Aa-Zz), along with the
sounds of the letters we have had for an entire week, will also be assessed at
that time for report cards.
Thanks to all of
you who were able to attend our Open House!
Thank you so much for all of your understanding and patience during this
very busy first week of Kindergarten!
They have learned so much already and are settling right in with all of
our new routines!!! We went on a hunt Monday
looking for the gingerbread man and “toured the school”! They had a lot of fun sneaking around the
school searching for him and finding the present he left us, so be please be
sure to ask your child about our adventure!J
***A HUGE
THANK YOU to parents who have sent a class snack in already!!! It is greatly appreciated! If you have not had a chance to send
anything, please send enough snacks for 22 kids. Please remember to check the ingredients to
make sure it DOES NOT say "manufactured in a factory that contains
peanuts". Thanks so much!!!J
***Please remember to
check your child’s folder each day and give your child a big bear hug for every
stamp he/she earns for great behavior! Reinforcement from home is so
important to a child’s learning experiences! Incase you would like to contact
me by e-mail, here is my address: connie.zalesky@wssd115.org
My phone
number is 239-000 extension #2112.
I
hope you have been seeing the special treats the kids have been earning the
last 2 days for their good behavior and I will continue that through next week!J ***Not next week, but the
following week, we will be starting to use our clip chart for our daily
behavior and it will be marked in your child’s folder.
***Folders and name tags need to be returned
each day. Thank you!!!😃
