***Tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 23^rd is our 1^st Pancakes and PJ’s here at WS from 8:00-9:00, 9:00-10:00, or 10:00-11:00!!!  The cost is just $5/person for all you can eat pancakes, sausage and juice made by Chris’ Cakes!  It is going to be a fun time so roll out of bed and come join in the fun!!!J

***Wednesday, Feb. 27^th is the deadline for the free 6 Flags ticket!!!  If you have read with your child for a total of 6 hours, please return your paper as soon as possible!J

**Parent Teacher Conferences Tuesday, February 26 from 4-7:30  and Thursday, February 28^th from 4-7:30

**No School Friday, February 29^th for Teacher Institute

***THURSDAY will be the LAST DAY to donate to help the Make a Wish Foundation for this area with our THANKS TO YOU WISHES COME TRUE FUNDRAISER and get a chance to earn prizes and the BIG PRIZES of Movie Gift Cards!!!

            The kids are doing a wonderful job on their Popcorn Words!  I will continue checking them each week and send a progress sheet home so you can see how your child is doing.  Thanks so much for all of your hard work helping your child to learn our words that I have been sending home each month!  Extra reinforcement at home make a tremendous difference!!!J

Saturday, March 2^nd is Dr. Seuss' birthday so we will be celebrating and talking a lot about rhyming with all of his books.  I will be sending out Dr. Seuss Special Readers sign-up to come in and read your favorite Dr. Seuss book!  The kids are really looking forward to it!  Please sign up for a time that works best for you and if you can’t find a spot, just let me know and we will work it in!J

***100 DAY is Rescheduled for Monday, February 4^th

Because of school being cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday!!!***

A HUGE THANKS to all of you who have already completed your 100 Day projects with your child.  They look AMAZING!!! J  If you haven’t completed it yet, you still have until Monday to bring them in.  The kids are SUPER EXCITED to see what their friends did and get to share their special creations with their friends!J

            Our BIG 100^thDAY OF SCHOOL will now be on Monday, February 4^th!  It seems hard to believe that so much time has gone by already!  I hope you had fun making your 100 Day projects with your child.  We will also be visiting other Kindergarten rooms for some fun 100 Day activities.  It’s going to be a very special day in Kindergarten!!!J

***Next Wednesday, February 6^th - Spring Pictures & Class Picture

(Money for class pictures has to be turned in that day if you would like to order.  If you would like to choose your child’s pose for his/her individual picture, please return the order form with your choice.)

            Of course the kids are very excited about our Valentine’s Day Party that will be coming very soon on Tuesday, Feb. 14^th!  I will be sending home a list of names of the kids in our classroom and some of their other teachers in case they want them.  Please have your child try to write the names on his/her valentines.  It will provide good practice in letter recognition, handwriting and name recognition.  You may want to start as soon as they come home since some children will only want to write a few names a day. 

            Along with all of our special days coming up, it will be time for testing for our progress report soon!  Please be reviewing all of the letters and sounds that we will have studied already (Aa- Ll), numbers 1-20 (recognizing and writing for both letters and numbers), counting up to 75, printing first and last name, and the color words along with the sight words from October and November.  I have started testing on those sight words that were sent home in October and November and sending home their progress sheets on how they are doing.  For this nine weeks, I will only be grading on those first 2 months of 30 popcorn words that were introduced in October and November.  Please keep reviewing the words from December and January because I will be testing on those next.  Thanks so much for all of your help!!J
